NCED Connect Symposium 2025
Welcome to the NC ED Connect Symposium!
Tuesday January 21, 2025 11:00am - 11:50am EST
In an era where technology is transforming education, school libraries must evolve to meet the diverse needs of their readers. This presentation focuses on how we are creatively combining dynamic shelving, genrefication, and digital resources to foster an engaging reading environment. Leveraging a grant from the Department of Defense Education Activity (DoDEA), we have reimagined our library space to celebrate both traditional print and digital media, ensuring every student finds their place in the literary world. The presentation will include an interactive display of our newly designed library spaces that feature dynamic shelving arrangements and genrefication to cater to diverse reading preferences; highlight how integrating digital titles alongside physical books can enhance accessibility and appeal to tech-savvy students; provide tangible examples of how these strategies have transformed our library and increased student engagement and circulation rates; and foster discussion among attendees about their own library practices, encouraging the sharing of ideas and resources to enhance student engagement. The presentation will include interactive elements demonstrating dynamic shelving, genrefication practices; digital integration, and engagement metrics.
