About me
Gwen Bissette has dedicated more than 19 years to education and service with North Carolina. Starting as a pre-K teacher while earning her Human Services degree, she later spent a decade in the insurance industry, honing her customer service skills. This experience enhanced her ability to resolve complex issues and provide clear solutions. Gwen's passion for children led her to become an Exceptional Children teacher assistant in Wayne County. In 2006, she joined DPI as a support desk dispatcher during the transition from SIMS to NCWise. As North Carolina moved to PowerSchool, Gwen advanced to level 1 and tier 2 support roles. With 15+ years of experience across four student information systems, she joined DPI's Educational Technology Solutions team in 2022. Currently, Gwen writes requirements for the SIS, ensuring North Carolina's compliance. Her extensive background and dedication continue to serve the state's educational needs.
