Karen Nichols serves as the Coordinator of Digital Teaching and Learning and Library Media Services for Hoke County Schools in Raeford, NC, where she has managed district library services since 2015, delivers professional development, and is the author and project manager of a $1.76 million grant that supports library initiatives. Additionally, she is a course facilitator for the Creative Commons Global Online Network working to promote the use of open educational resources. Karen has served as a Digital Technology Instructional Facilitator, School Library Media Coordinator, Academically Gifted Facilitator, Classroom Teacher, and worked within the nonprofit sector and for the Department of Defense. Her career highlights include contributing to the NC Digital Learning Initiative, presenting at multiple esteemed conferences, and obtaining numerous educational certifications and grants. Karen brings extensive experience in digital literacy, copyright best practices, and instructional technology.
